The "Death of a Salesman" painting by Sterling Hundley is the recipient of the prestigious Gold medal by the Society of Illustrators, New York (Advertising, 2008), declaring it amongst the most important illustration for advertising created from 2006-2007. It has since appeared in Communication Arts magazine in a feature story on Sterling Hundley, in the Communication Arts Illustration annual (2008), and in a feature story on Hundley in RVA magazine.
"Death of a Salesman" by Sterling Hundley invokes the haunted imagery of a used of traveling salesman who has given his life to his industry. His open brief case reveals dreams unrealized (the house, the car...), while the hanging suit, the do not disturb sign, and the hotel room door hint at the indiscretions that would send his life into a tailspin.
