"Child Bride", Richmond Magazine, 2008, mixed media, 14" x 15"

Commissioned by Richmond Magazine, This illustration accompanied a story about the renovating of the Petersburg, Virginia honeymoon suite of Edgar Allen Poe, and his child bride, Virginia Eliza Clemm. Poe's marriage to his cousin Clemm was highly contested, due to their blood relationship, and the fact that Virginia Clemm was only 13, while Poe was 27. The painting was created on Illustration Board using mixed media.
